Exclusive Interview with T.I.

Since his rocky relationship with the law and frequent imprisonment, famed hip-hop artist T.I. has been avoiding the limelight.  In a rare interview opportunity TOD chats with him about his new lease on life, his latest album, family life and new business ventures.

What made you choose “I’m Flexin” for your latest single?To be honest It was the first record I recorded when I went in to jail. I actually did about ten verses in one day.  I know that sounds crazy, but I mean I have always worked hard and I was motivated.

Tell us about your new book releasing on 10/18?
It's a fictional book called "Power and Beauty."  I really wanted to give this  generation a "Coldest Winter Ever." That book is one of my favorites and I honestly don't think there has been another book like it in the last ten or fifteen years.

While we are familiar with your clothing line AKOO (A King Of One's Self,) tell us about your new ventures into fashion?
I am actually in the process of launching AQOO (A Queen Of Ones Self) which will be a line of women's wear. There seems to be a market for it and we're ready to launch it.

We can only assume you are sitting on a pile of scripts a mile high, are there any plans for movies?You know, Im not forcing my self into any new projects or films right now. While I do have a lot of opportunities, and I realize I'm very fortunate to have those opportunities, I don't plan to rush into anything. The right film will reveal its self and I will pursue it when the time is right.

Among all the projects you are working on, we also heard there is a reality show in the works for you. Can you confirm?
I dislike the word reality show... I prefer documentary. The show is called "Family Hustle" and it will cover the many aspects of being the man of a family. And its really a lot more about my my family than just about me. One of my sons wants to rap and so this will be a time when he can expose his gift. My other son King, wants to act. Another one of my daughters wants to sing. So each of them will be able to show case their talents through this show. When I got home this what they decided they all wanted, so I just put it together.

Speaking of your daughters, The OMG Girlz are the newest addition to the Scream Star Entertainment family and are the proud winners of the coast to coast 2010-2011 Next Scream Star Talent Search. The OMG Girlz beat out hundreds of other young contestants to earn a spot on this year’s SCREAM TOUR. Coincidentally your daughter happens to be one of the members. Tell your feelings about your daughter Zonnique being in the music business.

I am very proud of her and really just proud of the group all together. They are on the scream tour and I'm exstatic about there success.
