Detroit -- A state championship. At times, it seemed like an impossible dream to Thomas Wilcher. Since starting as an assistant at Cass Tech in 1991, Wilcher had watched the finals but never participated in them. It looked like that would happen again this year as his team entered the playoffs with a 6-3 record and a freshman quarterback.
