Detroit Homicide Detective Al Williams was just trying to go see a
movie on his day off, but before he could even get into the theater, he
was right in the middle of an armed robbery.
"Everybody started
running in the parking lot and (a) lady came... beside my car, and I
asked her, 'What's going on?' She said, 'Guys over there with guns,'"
said Williams.
Just like that, Williams' day off was over, and he
wasn't even in Detroit.
"He was bleeding from the head, and I
noticed he didn't have on his glasses or any of the jewelry I just saw
him with," Williams said. "I just figured they had just robbed him."
He was right. The car sped off, but Williams followed it until the
driver began driving recklessly, so he backed off and called Dearborn
Police.
"I gave them a good description and good details, and
based upon that, they were able to make the arrests," said Williams.
It appears Monday's robbery may not have been their first.
"That
car was wanted for two armed robberies in Detroit, also," Williams
said.
Dearborn Police are now on the verge of busting a suspected
robbery ring, and they have Williams to thank for that.
"Any
police officer probably would do that if they see something and they're
right there in the situation," said Williams.
Dearborn Police are
still searching for two suspects they believe were involved in this
robbery. If you have any information, you are asked to give them a call.
