I watched the high school soccer team play in pink socks.
The long kind, that come up to the knees. My friend J has been wearing a pink
rubber bracelet that reads simply “HOPE”. And one of Detroit’s newest party
promoters on the scene, Darius of Wild Card Experience walked Ks through
downtown in support of a cure.
It’s nice to see men stepping up in support of Breast Cancer
Awareness. Especially the brothers rocking PINK. Their security is a little
sexy, right Ladies? It’s hot without looking too (dare I say) Kamron-ish. Women
have historically fought so many battles alone. It feels good when our men
stand by our side in a fight. And make no mistake, Breast Cancer is a killer
and must be defeated.
Clifford Johnson, more commonly known
as Redd from Street Justice, (a critically acclaimed hip hop group from Inkster) is a rapper, actor, producer, graphic artist and philanthropist. Along
with photographer Jon Ohene, he has designed a desk calendar for 2012 entitled:
FIGHTING BACK. What I like most about it is that it features beautiful faces
that represent Detroit’s diversity and determination. They’re not celebrities.
They’re just women. Like me.
Its perfect for the top drawer of your work desk or for
pinning up on the wall of your cubicle. You need something to mark your
vacation days on. And every time it’s used, you become part of the fight. This
is Detroit. We are fighters.
Your $10 contribution benefits Breast Cancer research and if
you order one today you’ll have your calendar in hand well before December 31st.
To place an order, email WeLoveRedd@gmail.com or call 313-768-8646. Support a good man trying to do a good thing. But maybe,
I’m a little biased. I just happen to love him to death. #HarrisonConnerProductions
