Christian Siriano’s work is always stunning but this
collection seemed to be tamer than the past. Siriano usually busts out the big
guns with show stopping gowns and although there were a few red carpet-worthy
pieces in the collection like a stunning tulle gown, the bulk of the show
presented subtle drama.
Deep cranberry-lipped models wearing lots of black, charcoal
and white stepped onto the runway to music by Brad Walsh featuring Hustle Roses as the collection was inspired by the
1933 film The Vampire Bat.
Chic leather jackets, both long and waist length, with form
fitting dresses, flowy dresses, belted dresses and a few pants suits made up the
fall/winter 2012 collection including detailing reminiscing the beauty Siriano
finds in the wings of a bat. Plus we saw something a little out of the ordinary
for Siriano – fur!
Most of the collection brought on an edgy but sophisticated
feel with leather jackets paired with sleek corporate worthy dresses and
fabulous footwear, some of which will be part of his Payless collection.
Yells of congratulations and a standing ovation closed out
the show. Christian Siriano has successfully done it again!
