Talk of Detroit's: Up and Coming Model!
(Q):
So, most interviews don’t ask…but how are you?
(A):
I’m feeling great, I would be a lot better if it wasn't so cold!
(Q):
What’s your name? Tell me a bit about yourself?
(A):
My name is Jennifer Lee Nelson. I'm a proudly mixed African American and
Caucasian young female and the youngest out of nine. I am seventeen years old and currently a
senior at Henry Ford II patiently waiting to graduate so I can finally begin my
life to see what the world is really about. After graduation I plan on starting
college in order to receive my Master's degree in either Human Services or
Psychology. Whichever path I choose, all I want to do is be able to help people
with their lives and hopefully help them have a more positive outlook. I've
always been a people person and I love having opportunities to meet new people.
I'm known for being a rather blunt and understanding person. I like to know the
truth, but I also realize everyone is human and makes mistakes so I try not to
hold grudges
(Q):
How did you first get into modeling?
(A):
My sister is into modeling and ever since I was little she has been my role
model. I remember years ago I would steal my sister's heels and
"model" in the bathroom mirror pretending I was Tyra Banks. Back in
2004 I had the opportunity to be in a runway show for the company Ducati
Motorcycles. I was only about eleven or twelve years old at the time, but I
loved being in the spotlight.
(Q):
How long have you been modeling?
(A):
My first modeling experience was when I was twelve years old. I haven't worked
with any popular or well renowned photographers really. I've had many opportunities
but I wasn’t able to take them. Mostly because of timing and location. I would
love to build myself and grow as a young model now that I am older and able to get
places on my own.
(Q):
What kind of modeling do you do?
(A):
Right now, unfortunately none. My time consists of school and work.
(Q):
Ok, now to the good stuff! Are you single? Married?
(A):
What girl doesn't like juicy stuff? I'm currently single enjoying life right
now.
(Q):
What do you look for in a mate?
(A):
Hmm... Well of course like most women I would like a guy that does all that
cute, mushy stuff you see in the movies. I like a guy that has goals, wants to
be successful and is family oriented. I love tall, handsome guys with a pretty
smile and who has mixed ethnicities just like me. I'm a big believer in
interracial relationships.
(Q):
Do you have a fashion icon? Why?
(A):
I would have to say either Stacey Dash or Rihanna. I think they are both
extremely beautiful women. I like the way Stacey Dash dresses because it's
feminine and pretty. Rihanna on the other hand has a unique and exotic look.
(Q):
Which photographers would you be interested in working with if you had the
chance?
(A):
Since I grew up watching America's Next Top Model, I'd have to go with Nigel
Barker. Who wouldn't want an attractive man as their photographer?
(Q):
Any words of inspiration?
(A):
I may be young, but I've also experienced quite a bit for my age. I believe
everything happens for a reason and you can turn any negative situation into a
positive life lesson. No matter how tough or difficult things might be, just
remember you will get through it and it can make you emotionally stronger if
you don't allow it to break you down.
(Q):
Share a little bit of your beauty secret to us (if you don't mind)
(A):
I don't really have beauty "secrets," I think confidence is beauty.
As a person you should be comfortable in your skin and not let society or the
media tell you otherwise. Get enough sleep to minimize those ugly bags under
the eyes, keep your skin moisturized and stay healthy!
(Q):
Where can we see more of you at?
(A): As of now you can find me
on Facebook at Jennifer Lee'.
Thank you and congrats!
